Contract caterer Eurest Sutcliffe has been awarded a seven
year contract extension on its original five year agreement with the Ministry
of Defence in Bristol, to provide catering for 6,000 employees.
As part of the seven year contract, Eurest Sutcliffe has
invested £160,000 refurbishing existing restaurants and introducing
new coffee and deli bars across the 400,000 sq m (98 acre) Abbey Wood
site. The new contract, to commence mid-December this year, is also to
provide a conferencing and hospitality food service and upgrade and redecorate
the main 350-seat restaurant.
Penny Papierz, an operations director at Eurest Sutcliffe
commented on the contract: "We are working closely with the client
to further improve the services and the food offer, as well as to modernise
the catering facilities in line with High Street trends. The deli and
coffee bar concepts we are introducing have proved extremely popular in
other sites we operate. They will provide a contemporary eating experience."
Steve Holden of the FM Group at the MoD said: "Eurest Sutcliffe recognises
the importance of providing a wide selection of meals to cater for the
ever changing eating trends within busy corporate establishments. Their
plans for the new contract represent an imaginative and exciting change
and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership."
