"For the first time we can talk about global outsourcing
as a deliverable." So said Ed Lyons, President and CEO of Trammell
Crow Savills, at a briefing for the UK facilities and real estate
press last week.
Since the joint venture between Trammell Crow Company and FPDSavills
was formally launched in July last year (see
News story) TCC has announced a significant extension of its partnership
with American Express to cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa, to
be delivered through TCS (see News story).
Although it undoubtedly gains from the contacts and capabilities of
its parent companies, TCS is keen to assert its independence and ambitions.
"We are the only outsourcing company able to deliver the vision,"
asserts Lyons, "Multinational companies are seeking a partner who
can work with them on a national, international or global basis, so
that they manage their non-core services strategically and seamlessly."
TCS aims to build on work for clients such as British Airways, Cisco,
Daiwa and NCR. The company's growth plan targets over 20m sq m (220m
sq ft) of space across Europe and 'significant' new business is expected
to be announced within weeks.
l TCS has strengthened the real estate expertise on its team
with two new appointments. Ian Howarth has been promoted to Senior Account
Manager of Transaction Management with responsibility for managing major
accounts such as Getronics.
Ian joined TCS in 1998 and previously worked with the European Corporate
Services Team, managing and supervising the provision of the real estate
services to Getronics and its various country subsidiaries across the
EMEA region.
James Maunder-Taylor has been promoted to Account Manager of Transaction
Management, responsible for the day-to-day running of the City Reach
and FLAG Telecom accounts; liaising with clients and suppliers, managing
the acquisition of operational space on a pan-European basis and the
valuations for restructuring.
