To strengthen and expand the effectiveness of Cushman &
Wakefield's Asia management team and to keep pace with the real estate
services firm's new global business initiatives, C&W has appointed
Michael J. Thompson as CEO, Asia Pacific and Nigel Bacon as president,
Asia Pacific.
Thompson will be responsible for developing C&W's expanding regional
business and will work to increase the company's market share in Asia
Pacific while Bacon will focus on introducing the company's global new
business initiatives to the Asia Pacific region, and on operations.
"C&W's client growth in Asia Pacific has been phenomenal and
we don't intend to slow down. We have a talented team and we are committed
to offering our clients world class service in this fast growing region
of the world," said Thompson.
Prior to this appointment, Thompson was based in New Delhi and served
as managing director of C&W India where he expanded the companys
services, market share, and presence in the region. In his new position
Thompson will remain closely involved in the India operations.
Bacon added: "In the past five years, C&W has expanded its Asia
Pacific reach to 28 offices in nine countries and more office openings
and business initiatives are planned next year."
The two new appointments are effective as of January 1, 2001.
