Haden Young
and WS Atkins report million pounds business wins in FM; a summary.
Haden Young, the UK mechanical and electrical building services contractor,
has secured further new orders in the healthcare sector, following on
from its recently announced successes in the PFI market at Hereford and
Nottingham.
These include
the mechanical and electrical services for phase 5 of the redevelopment
of the Blackpool Victoria Infirmary - a contract worth £3 million
- and the mechanical services for the Law Hospital Carluke, near Glasgow
- worth £3.1 million.
Further work
has also been secured from House of Fraser for the new store at the Oracle
Centre, Reading. The mechanical and electrical services contract is worth
£3.4 million.
WS Atkins
has been appointed by the Ministry of Defence as works services manager
for the High Wycombe Group, which comprises command and control centres
for NATO operations. It also provides WS Atkins the responsibility for
maintaining the VIP airport at RAF Northolt. This contract is one of four
recent successes - totalling some £25 million in fee value - for
the WS Atkins newly launched Defence Services business.
The others are:
- A three-year
contract to supply a facilities management consultancy service to the
Defence Housing Executive.
- Work services
manager for the garrison at Catterick.
- Works
services manager for the Brampton/Wyton Group
