Property managers will soon be able to outsource their management systems
online using what is claimed to be the first-ever application service
provider (ASP) Internet portal for the property market.
Specialist computer software and services company Fraser Williams is launching
www.propertydesktop.com
worldwide this week. For a fixed monthly fee companies can run the full
range of Fraser Williams property applications -including property database,
system administration, accounting, reporting, diary and company security
over the Internet.
The company says propertydesktop.com enables users not only to link cost
with usage, but also to stop worrying about updating system software and
hardware, IT skills shortages or disaster recovery.
John Cuppello, Managing Director of Fraser Williams Commercial Systems,
commented: "How can property companies exploit e-business without
turning
themselves into technology-bound oganisations? The ASP concept, allied
to
our long reputation for trust and security, is the perfect solution for
customers who want to concentrate on their core competencies and greatly
reduce their IT costs."
Fraser Williams cites one of its clients, Ford Motor Company, as proof
that online access to property software applications works. The SKYLINE
property management system is installed at Fords HQ in Detroit and
is accessed by Fords subsidiaries around the world via the companys
Intranet.
