Bank
of Scotland outsources telephone services
The BT company
Syncordia Solutions has won a five-year £100M contract for the management
and development of voice, data and mobile phone networks at the Bank of
Scotland.
Syncordia
bills itself as the UK's largest provider of such services and numbers
18 out of the top 20 financial institutions as clients. It is also extending
its operations into e-commerce and claims to handle over 80% of all credit
card transactions in this country.
The Bank
of Scotland's decision to outsource is one of several streamlining
initiatives introduced within the group recently.
Also underway
is the integration of property services functions for the subsidiary companies.
This will see FM responsibilities centralised and, ultimately, all premises
linked via the BoS intranet.
