WSP wins government contract; Symonds completes restructuring
The Department of Culture, Media and Sport has awarded a five-year £1.6M
contract for procurement and management of facilities services to WSP
FM.
Covered are five central London locations, including the offices of the
Secretary of State, Chris Smith, three junior Ministers and 400 departmental
staff. The contract also extends to the headquarters of the Government
Art Collection.
DCMS head of FM and procurement Jim Allwood says the contract was awarded
on the basis of the ability to provide "high quality and innovative solutions
whilst reducing costs."
WSP will also operate a 24-hour-a-day helpdesk service.
At Symonds FM, the framework interlinking the various parts of the Dalkia
Group has been declared complete. This underpins the new 'integrated services
management' offer, which extends from consultancy to service delivery.
In addition to Symonds FM, and its sister construction and project management
division, the parent group includes Dalkia Utilities Services and Dalkia
Energy & Technical Services.
