Jarvis Projects has been named preferred bidder by Wirral
Borough Council in a PFI scheme with a whole life value of over £189m.
Jarvis announced that it has been selected to negotiate for the design,
construction/refurbishment, financing and management of facilities for
nine schools across the Wirral area. The construction work is expected
to start early next year and will be completed by the end of 2003.
The scheme will involve a capital investment of £50m to upgrade
infrastructure in the schools concerned and the delivery of facilities
management services over a 25-year period. These will include building
and grounds maintenance, caretaking, cleaning, catering, transport and
security, said Jarvis.
