US company Computerized Facility Integration (CFI) is to offer FM solutions
based on the Documentum content management platform. The service is aimed
at companies requiring decision quality data from CFIs computerised
integrated facility management (CIFM) and maintenance management systems
(CMMS). It will enable CFI to provide this without traditional in-house
implementations.
Gerry Machi, vice president of Documentum, which has licensed its products
to over 900 Global 2000 and Internet customers, says that content management
is a key element of a comprehensive FM solution.
CFI has realised the importance of providing its customers with services
on a hosted basis over the last year. CFIs COO Bob Dalton says that
the platform on which the FM solutions are built has met all CFIs
criteria and provides the most robust platform on which to build its applications.
Dalton adds that CFI anticipates it will gain 80% of its revenues from
hosted offerings by 2002.
CFI offers technical corporate FM support including maintenance-, document-,
space and lease management. Documentum develops, markets and supports
internet-scale content management solutions for companys wishing
to strengthen their on-line presence. With 21 offices worldwide it also
offers global consulting services and programmes including technical support
and education services.
