The third unit of the PFI project for Sussex Weald & Downs NHS Trust,
the Harold Kidd Unit in Chichester, has opened, bringing the development
to the half way stage. Dalkia Workplace Services will provide the facilities
management under a 30-year agreement, with Investors of Health (Chichester)
as the finance providers. The annual budget for facilities services is
approximately £1.7m.
Facilities management is provided by Dalkia Workplace Services, MITIE
Catering and Dalkia Energy & Technical Services. The team has been
helped by the creative use of technology, including the advanced
help desk performance management systems.
Debbie Green, Dalkia Workplace Services facilities manager, said: "We
have been helped tremendously by the close working relationship within
the management team and by the use of technology. It is very rewarding
to see the different units going live and we look forward to seeing all
the sites open by the end of the year with the patients now in a non-institutional
setting, in a more homely type of environment."
The first sites of this PFI project opened in June and August, and following
the opening of the Harold Kidd Unit, two further units in Chichester and
one in Midhurst are scheduled to open later this year.
