IBM creates new centres to counter creative crisis in e-business

To coax visitors into the appropriate mind-set from the very start, an exploration area with sculptures as well as interactive touch screens demonstrating innovative e-business scenarios. A 42-metre wall extends back from the reception area into the workspaces. Finally customers reach the core brainstorming space - the think tank rooms. The open plan of the think tank areas offers an environment that is fluid and adaptable, acting as a catalyst to help clients elucidate their real business needs. The integrated team then works to maximum effect to generate a creative solution that offers true competitive advantage. Design and architecture is by Gensler.

"The Centres for IBM e-business Innovation have been painted and furnished in exceptionally bright colours, with the emphasis on creativity and lateral thinking to produce optimal, workable e-business solutions specific to each of our customers," continues Shercliff. "Our integrated team ethos demands that everyone works in tandem with the customer to go the extra mile, and since our solutions are based upon first hand knowledge we can avoid costly mistakes."
