KPMG launches outsourcing support service
Calling it "Fast Track Outsourcing", KPMG has launched a new service
aimed at companies who feel they could use some extra help in finding
the best way through.
"Traditional outsourcing processes are fundamentally flawed," says practice
leader Bob Aylott. The consultants intend to get over this by:
-
designing a process that leverages the full capabilities of the
supplier, and
-
prequalifying potential partners beforehand to improve the chances
of getting a better deal.
The advantages for suppliers, suggests KPMG, include saving time, reducing
the risk of abortive effort and increasing the opportunity to demonstrate
expertise. The promise to clients is a methodology that is flexible, transparent
and more closely targeted to real needs.
KPMG says that the best outsourcing contracts share a number of features,
including:
-
intensive board involvement throughout the process
-
continuous contract development and negotiation to maximise value
-
a tight, well defined and well managed process
-
rapid access to any additional specialists needed, and
-
rapid mobilisation of a knowledgeable team.
