IDRC 'discovery forums' to be launched in London
The corporate real estate executives group IDRC will kick off its latest
knowledge-building initiative in London this week.
The Discovery Forum, planned for 19 & 20 November, will focus on trends
in the industry as a whole and how companies are responding to new demands.
Through case studies, the intention is to look at what works and what
does not.
"Real estate must be flexible, yield greater employee productivity,
combine seamlessly with information technology, mesh with long-term strategy,
enable globalisation and - ultimately - create additional value for shareholders,"
observes IDRC Foundation president Bruce Russell.
To help in achieving all this, the group aims to set up a platform for
fast learning from practical experience. Similar forums are to be held
on the continent, in Asia, Australia and America. In addition to local
benefit, the IDRC will take the information back to its central office
and distil out key issues and best practices.
