Industry Update: new contract, new flexibility
Cable & Wireless has awarded a new facilities services contract, starting
this month, to Workplace Management.
The tender was put together by Summit Management & Consulting,
which worked closely with C&W's procurement manager and property services
manager. It was designed, says Summit MD David Wilson, to include detailed
service specifications and a sophisticated performance measurement system,
both intended to deliver significant cost savings for the client.
Dudley Bower Facilities Management has struck a deal with software
house PSDI which will enable DBFM to use the Maximo asset maintenance
package in its own handheld field systems.
DBFM on-site staff will be able to access Maximo remotely, using the
system to handle both planned and reactive maintenance tasks. The company
says this will produce greater efficiency and lower costs, as well as
enhanced safety for personnel.
