Blinded by the hype? (Chapter 2)
From America, where at least some things tend to happen first, comes
unexpected news.
Based on an investigation of IT trends in the retail sector, Ernst &
Young reports that the Internet will not have a significant effect on
business over the next 12 months.
Virtually all respondents to a survey of senior professionals are currently
looking at the net as primarily a tool for marketing and advertising.
This may mean that companies have examined the opportunities and adopted
the strategy that will best serve their own needs. Alternatively, the
e-commerce revolution will take a bit longer to arrive.
