Foodservice group Compass has extended its global foodservice
contract with Royal Philips Electronics for a further three years.
The initial agreement, announced in March 1998, a contract
which covered the operation of staff restaurants, conference and meeting
facilities, convenience shops, executive dining facilities and vending
at all Philips locations worldwide.
Hans Brons, vice president and general manager of Philips
Global Purchasing Services said: When we signed the initial agreement
it was the first global foodservice contract of its kind anywhere in the
world. Our aim was to work with a company with the ability to handle the
large scale and complex change process and to provide better quality service
and choice for the Philips employee. We have decided to extend the agreement
because Compass Group has proved its ability to exceed the targets we
set.
Michael J. Bailey, chief executive, Compass Group, said:
This contract extension is excellent news for both companies as
it will allow Philips and Compass Group to further capitalise on the benefits
of the agreement. We appreciate the confidence Philips have in our global
scale and local focus. This contract extension and other recent contract
gains clearly demonstrates the leading position of Compass Group in the
marketplace
