John B. Coppedge III has been promoted to executive vice president, International
Operations for Cushman & Wakefield, where he will direct the firm's
international operations from the New York City World Headquarters office.
Coppedge
will collaborate with the companys new president of US operations,
Bruce E. Mosler, in serving the needs of the firm's multi-national clients.
He will also work to increase the firm's market share, particularly in
the emerging markets of Asia and South America.
Cushman & Wakefield president and CEO Arthur J. Mirante II said: "In
the maturing global marketplace, John's global experience, vision and
leadership will help guide us as we solidify our position as the global
leader in real estate services."
Currently expanding its global presence, Cushman & Wakefield has opened
11 new offices and launched new operations in Japan and Argentina this
year. Coppedge said the company opened these operations in anticipation
of its clients' needs.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield in 1977, Coppedge served as broker,
branch manager, regional director of Financial Services and managing director
European/Asia Operations, and executive managing director, International
Services.
He relocated to London in 1990 and was appointed director of European
Operations with responsibility for the operation of Cushman & Wakefield's
joint initiative with the UK-based firm of Healey & Baker. In 1994,
Coppedge was also made responsible for Cushman & Wakefield's Asia
Operation and from 1997 was based in Hong Kong. His responsibilities included
the representation of a major US multinational corporation.
In 1998, Coppedge was appointed executive managing director of International
Operations and relocated to New York. As such, he was heavily involved
in the merger between Cushman & Wakefield and Healey & Baker.
His responsibilities included Cushman & Wakefield's International
Operations. Coppedge is a member of the Cushman & Wakefield Board
of Directors as well as a member of the Healey & Baker Board of Management.
