Sulzer Infra CBX the UK arm of Sulzer Infra - has
beaten off "stiff competition" to win a three year contract
with AT&T for facilities management in the UK and Ireland. The competitively
tendered outsourcing exercise covers a range of workplace services from
call centre management to catering and is subject to a rolling annual
extension of up to five years. It represents phase 1 of a three phase
global outsourcing property requirement and Sulzer are now in discussions
about phase 2 which covers general operations support and facilities management
for their workplaces across the rest of Europe.
Commenting on the success, David Morris, business development director
for Sulzer Infra CBX said: "In common with other multinationals,
AT&T have made the strategic decision that they are no longer in the
property management arena and wish to outsource their property management
requirements at all levels. In our proposal for phase 1 UK and
Ireland we drew attention to our European capability for phase
2 and we are now in detailed negotiations."
AT&T Corporation serves more than 80 million customers worldwide,
has 151,000 employees and annual revenue of more than $64 billion.
Steve Woodbine, AT&T Group Property Manager for Europe, Middle East
& Africa said: "We chose Sulzer Infra as they are a well established
multi-disciplinary support service group operating across Europe. Their
philosophy and openness, together with their strong European base, closely
matches that of AT&T's existing Real Estate department. This is an
exciting time for all - not only is this a strategic partnership for AT&T
but it will also be of benefit my staff in that transferring to Sulzer
will culminate in strong career paths for them in a true FM company."
