Try Group has confirmed the appointment of a specialist
PFI director, Jessie Hiney. Try intends to develop its role as a partner
in PFI projects, "in order to become a recognised provider of expertise
and investment in consortia bidding for PFI work." Further, the Group
wants to build on its positive results and its experience in health, education,
housing and local authority projects.
The PFI division will focus on work with a capital value up to £50m,
whilst smaller, more specialist projects, will be undertaken by Try Accord,
the Groups experts in hard facilities management.
Jessie Hiney has over 20 years experience in the construction industry
and has specialised in PFI projects for the last five years. She has been
involved in all aspects of the PFI process, from assembly of bidding consortia
through the management of bid submissions including working with the MoD,
healthcare, further education, prisons, libraries and technological learning
centres.
"This is a very exciting and challenging position in a fast developing
market," said Hiney. "With the commitment and resources of Try
Group, I have no doubt that the PFI Division will make a significant and
positive impact."
Try has recently invested heavily in repositioning its construction services
as a one-stop provider for construction, fit-out, facilities management
and interior design. The Group has recently become one of five companies
to achieve accreditation with the Design Build Foundation, which is expected
to become a prerequisite to working for the blue chip clients.
