"As part of its commitment to sustainability",
WSP Environmental, part of WSP Group plc, has helped in producing a new
handbook on the subject, which aims to provide vital guidelines to architects
and engineers when designing or refurbishing buildings.
The Green Building Handbook has been co-written by Sam Kimmins, member
of WSP's Sustainability Division, which provides sustainable consultancy
in the UK and abroad.
Commenting on the new book, Mr Kimmins said: "The issue of sustainability
is becoming an increasingly integral component in the design and construction
world. With many more clients demanding "green" solutions, our
aim is to provide the industry with a comprehensive guide to tackling
these issues."
The book covers many different topics from natural ventilation to environmental
"best buy" adhesives and paint and has a comprehensive list
of suppliers, making it simple to locate the latest innovative materials.
