MacLellan International has been selected to provide a broad
package of environmental services to the central London estate of the
Ministry of Defence. MacLellan will support Amey Business Services during
extensive refurbishment of the buildings, with Amey providing overall
management of facilities services throughout the venture.
Under a 10 year contract, MacLellan will be responsible for waste management,
collection and recycling, grounds maintenance, cleaning and maintenance
of offices and buildings, as well as pest control and laundry services.
The flexible approach adopted by both providers will ensure that MoD staff
can be relocated to alternative locations, minimising the level of disruption
during the refurbishment process.
A consortium comprising AMEY, McQuarie Infrastructure, Hyder and Innisfree
won the PFI project to modernise The Ministry of Defence (MoD) headquarters
in Whitehall last month (see News story
15 May).
