Jarvis has in recent months signed six new PFI projects worth, in whole
life terms, £230m.
Five of the projects are schools, throughout the country. Included in
the five is Balfron High School at Stirling, the first single school to
be delivered in Scotland under PFI. Balfron will accommodate 940 pupils
from August next year. Jarvis will provide building and life cycle maintenance,
grounds maintenance, catering, cleaning and security services for 25 years
after completion of the new school. Total development cost is £18m
and whole life value is £50m.
Other schools include St Ninians High School in East Renfrewshire,
where Jarvis will operate the completed premises for 25 years providing
premises management, building and life cycle maintenance, grounds maintenance,
catering, cleaning and security services. The whole life value of the
contract is £54m. Jarvis will also be providing services at Debden
Park High School in Essex, Hampden Gurney Church of England School in
Westminster and Homelands Primary School, and Westlands Bilateral Secondary
School in Torbay.
In addition to the school contracts, Jarvis is relocating six separate
offices to a single site in Chippenham for North Wiltshire District Council.
The company will provide on-going services for 25 years starting in January
2002. The whole life value of the contract is £39m.
