Try Construction is set to reduce its onsite energy costs and shake
up the construction industrys supply chain management for power
to sites in a deal with London Electricity.
Try has brokered an agreement that makes London Electricity the exclusive
supplier of energy to their sites across the country, all with the
objective of driving better procurement practice," says Try. Their
procurement team, headed by Peter Keiller, has negotiated preferred rates
with London Electricity that have the potential of savings in excess of
20% on current electricity bills, according to Try.
"London Electricity is now a one-stop-shop for all our site energy
needs throughout our business," said Peter Keiller. "This will
have a dramatic impact on the management of our supply chain, as not only
will it reduce purchasing costs but it will speed up our administration
and buying process thereby leading to further savings, which will then
be passed on to the benefit of the client."
Before the agreement with London Electricity, Try was obliged to go through
four stages in obtaining electricity for its sites, comprising securing
permission from a Regional Electricity Company (REC) to have the cable
laid; dealing with the RECs cable laying contractor; installation
of a meter and finally receiving the electricity supply and being billed
for it. London Electricitys New Construction Management Service
now facilitates the whole process, providing the single point of contact
that simplifies the supply chain management.
