Romec
is to become part of Consignia plc, the new name for The Post Office
Group from 26 March this year.
The Post Office's FM operation, which is seeking a joint venture partner
to expand its commercial activities, says the change to a plc has many
positive benefits including the ability of the Group to fund major initiatives
and acquisitions.
The familiar Romec brand will remain unaffected by the change of the
corporate name. Commenting on the move, marketing communications manager,
James Eyre said: "The change of name to Consignia is a positive
move by The Post Office, aimed at differentiating the business in the
face of increasing competition from overseas, as well as reflecting
the widening scope of its services."
"Romec customers will see no changes in our level of service, and
the move will not affect our existing contracts in any way. We will
be able to maximize our full commercial potential by being associated
with Consignia."
