CBPP publishes company profiles

The Construction Best Practice Programme (CBPP) is undertaking a series of company profiles, the first focusing on Mansell. The profiles are to detail how each company has successfully improved.

The Mansell profile looks at the company’s Best Practice approach and also features a timeline highlighting improvements from 1989-2000. The Best Practice approach includes looking at ‘a better way’, creating a culture of customer care, cascading commitment down the line, developing lean processes and maintaining the momentum.

The profiles are also to focus on identifying key events leading up to or facilitating improvement as well as the tools and methodology used. Both small and large companies will participate in the series, with profiles on Featherstone, Rollalong, and Whitby Bird being published in the Spring.

Zara Lamont, director of the Construction Best Practice Programme said: “The companies we have selected to profile are happy to share their continuous improvement journey with the rest of the industry. Our hope is that their experience will spur others into action as well as encouraging those currently undertaking an improvement initiative to continue. These profiles clearly show that there are real benefits to be gained by adopting Best Practice. It may not be a quick or easy journey but it is one worth embarking on.”

A total of fifteen profiles are expected to be completed by the end of the year, says the CBPP.
