Architecture and interior design company Tilney Shane has
been working closely with ICI on a corporate real estate strategy for
the relocation of its corporate centre.
Tilney Shane advised ICI on the choice of building and is now developing
the workplace specifications. The new ICI headquarters will be in Manchester
Square, London W1, in a new office development owned by Delancey Estates
and scheduled to be handed over for the internal fit-out by the middle
of this year.
While the Manchester Square development architects, GMW Partnership, are
completing the envelope, Tilney Shane will be working closely with ICIs
facilities management team to create an appropriate internal layout and
workplace attitude. Once the new headquarters has been completed, ICI
staff will move there from the company's existing Millbank site.
Commenting on Tilney Shanes early involvement in the project, architect
and director Kathy
Tilney said, It is rare to have a client with the foresight
to consult a designer before an office building has been identified. Having
the opportunity to write the specification for the new headquarters at
such an early stage will inevitably enable us to save ICI time and money
in the long-run.
