Galliford UK has appointed Tony Murphy general manager of its Facilities
Management section. The facilities management business was established
in April last year as part of the bid process for the Birmingham Schools
Rebuild PFI.
Tony, who is based at Galliford's Midlands' Wolveys offices, says, "
My role as head of the FM division is to offer Galliford customers a value-added
support service either as a supplement to a large construction project
or as an individual contract. For example, as part of the Birmingham PFI
contract, Galliford will provide a range of services, including management
of the buildings' facilities and services for thirty years. We are currently
finalising our plans and are in talks with a number of other companies,
including healthcare and leisure businesses, about other projects."
Galliford UK's business has expanded from the construction of premises,
through to the ability to furnish and maintain the building through its
lifetime. The extension of the business to incorporate facilities management
enables the company to provide customers with fully managed services,
from catering through to cleaning.
