Westminster City Council has awarded Sulzer Infra CBX a
15-year contract for the management of two hotels. This agreement opens
up a new business area for SI CBX, extending its infrastructure management
skills, delivered to commercial organisations, into the public sector.
Under the contract, SI CBX takes on responsibility as both
leaseholder and service provider for the properties, located in Hackney
and London's Docklands. Both hotels enable Westminster to provide quality
accommodation for people unable to be housed by the Council in the short
to medium-term.
The contract is set to generate around £1 million a year
in revenue for Sulzer Infra CBX and will also see the company employ the
existing team of staff engaged in managing the facilities and the service
provision.
Keith Hamer, FM Director at Sulzer Infra CBX, said: "This
is a new venture for us. SI CBX is now working across the full spectrum,
from high quality office facilities, through manufacturing sites, to residential
accommodation. In each case, our broad span of skills and experience ensures
that we can add value in the context of the consumer's own objectives.
For Westminster we'll be demonstrating our skills in the management of
good quality accommodation and setting the standard by which others will
be judged."
