  New lighting system for Citypoint

Delmatic, supplier of lighting management systems, has been awarded the contract to supply an advanced new system for the fit-out of the new Citypoint tower in the City of London.

Citypoint is the reincarnation of the former BP headquarters; originally called Britannic House and later renamed Britannic Tower. In 1964, the 35-storey building was the first London 'skyscraper' and at the time, the tallest building in London. It was described in the press at the time as a 'genuine modern building with sophisticated services technology'.

The tower has been totally stripped back to the concrete skeleton and is now being developed as a speculative property. The faŤade is being totally re-clad and reshaped and the building will be equipped with new services.

Celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, Delmatic originally fitted one of the earliest electronic lighting control systems to the building when it was first constructed in the early 1960s.

The awarding of the Citypoint contract means that Delmatic lighting management systems are now installed within the four tallest buildings in the City of London -Tower 42, Citypoint, 99 Bishopsgate and the CGU Tower.
