Xerox has awarded Johnson Controls a five-year contract for workplace
management and facilities support services at its 900,000sqm site in Rochester,
New York.
The site includes offices, as well as research and manufacturing facilities.
Johnson's role is wide-ranging and will cover:
- management of space and moves, as well as project requests and construction
- support for accommodation decisions with the goal of improving workplace
performance
- analysis of new workplace initiatives to ensure alignment with corporate
strategy and delivery of best value.
The Xerox win comes shortly after Johnson received the 1999 "meritorious
performance award" from Sun Microsystems. The award recognises Johnson's
success in introducing FM best practice principles for Sun at both its
offices in the States and in 16 other countries.
