Symonds FM managing director Prue Redfern has been selected as the new
chairman of the board of directors of the Business Services Association.
The BSA represent major outsourcing companies working across a broad
range of public and private sector activities. It is set to take another
step forward in its advocacy role this spring with the opening of a Brussels
office.
"The European market is vast and largely untapped, and we as major companies
must be active in this field," says Redfern. "However EU legislation in
the areas of employment, the environment, health and safety and public
procurement has a wide-ranging impact on all our businesses. We at BSA
have decided to tackle this at the source."
Redfern is the first woman to hold the position of chairman. As deputy
chairman, she helped to develop the BSA's new Commitment to Quality initiative,
which will ultimately become a part of the criteria for membership.
