Industry update: business is good
Reports from last month's WorkPlace exhibition are generally favourable.
The organisers say visitor levels were up - and perhaps more importantly,
the number of end users was up. Many exhibitors are talking about coming
back again, some on bigger stands.
The three 'experimental' stands - assembled by the RCA, BDG McColl and
Cordless Consultants - attracted considerable interest. This may have
been in part because they seemed to be the only ones not dedicated to
furniture. A big question for the next WorkPlace will be whether this
is, in fact, a furniture show.
Though not involved in the exhibition, business is clearly good at Trigon,
too. The FM company has announced contract wins at BA's new Didsbury call
centre and at Cisco's second building in Stockley Park, as well as a contract
extension at Talisman Energy in Aberdeen.
