The Facilities Management Association (FMA) has expanded
its web site in an attempt to grow its membership through a service which
will also generate revenue.
Its new appointment service free and confidential to individuals
allows people to remain anonymous until an interview has been arranged.
Revenue is gained from companies advertising vacancies and/or searching
the job seekers archive. Chairman of the FMA, MacLellans John Ellis,
says companies will still save money in comparison with recruitment agencies
which charge more: The service saves companies time finding the
right people to join. MacLellan uses the services, hoping to recruit 1,000
people.
The FMA was established in 1995 and its 20 members, with a combined turnover
of £1bn and employing 300,000 people, include Amey, MacLellan International,
Turner FM, Lloyds TSB, Kvaerner (Skanska) and the WSP Group. The association
aims to help members trade better although its reputation needs to be
spread via WOM in an established industry, says the FMA's Secretary Mary
Taffler.
