Amey told a meeting of investors and analysts at its DERA
operation in Farnborough yesterday that the Group had enjoyed a "sound
year's progress" across all areas of activity.
The Group's largest division, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), continues
to enjoy "buoyant market conditions and an abundance of opportunity".
BPO has acquired a 33% stake in Irish
Facility Managers Limited for IR£500,000 in cash, with an option
to purchase the remaining 67% assuming certain targets are met. Voting
control of the business is on a 50:50 basis. Amey says the acquisition
will give it an early foothold in an area which will offer significant
growth opportunities over the next five years.
Amey's Technology Services division has formed a joint company with Arrowcroft,
a specialist property company, to deliver management services to clients
with large property estates. The business, to be called Amcroft, will
bring together the combined resources of both companies
and operate on a fee and shared reward basis in the fast growing area
of
property outsourcing.
