Workplace

Workplace
99 - the office furniture and workplace event themed "The way we
work", looks to attract representatives from a wide spectrum of UK
companies. The event held this November 16-18 at London's Olympia has
95% of available stand space already taken.
Exhibitors
attending include Voko, ACT Furniture, City Desk, Interlit, Perfect Office
Furniture, Sciame and Sonorma S.A. Peter Oldfield Murray, director general
of the BCFA was enthusiastic about the show: "Workplace 99 will be
the most important event for the UK office furnishing industry this year".
It is planned
that the event will address four key issues within the working environment:
furniture flexibility, work technology, work styles and work spaces. It
will also host its central feature 'The Hub', a "state-of-the-art"
communications and presentation area designed by Lorenzo Apicella of Pentagram
Design.
Speakers
at 'The Hub' include James Woudhuysen speaking about 'The way we work'
and Tim Brown of IDEO on 'Vision of the future'. There will also be chaired
discussions on topics such as 'Technology for the future'; 'Trends in
creative offices'; 'Humanising the workplace' and a debate on whether
dealers should expect stronger distribution disciplines from their suppliers.
Mike Allsopp,
group exhibition director of Reed Exhibitions commented: "The 'Hub'
which forms the centrepiece of the show offers visitors the opportunity
to hear exciting keynote presentations and take part in informative masterclasses.
The high calibre of our experts presenting in the 'Hub' promises to attract
a number of people keen to hear what they have to say.
"Workplace
'99 is an event that reflects the knowledge, products and solutions available
to improve business results today and into the future."
