Project
Jaguar: Response to BT's call for interest "much greater than expected"
While not
willing to divulge who precisely has expressed an interest, Jo Adams,
project manager for the "hot current bid" in FM, BT's Project Jaguar,
says the interest received after its recent ads has been "very good indeed,
much greater than expected".
The two
page company resumes submitted as an expression of interest are currently
being evaluated by Ms Adams and her team. Chosen companies will soon be
sent a proposal document setting out "in not too prescriptive a fashion,
our further criteria for consideration". They will then, continued Jo
Adams, be given until Ist November "to go away and come back to us with
a proposal" about how they might work with BT into the future. The review
of proposals will then take place over the Winter.
BT recently
placed full page advertisements in the trade press - including the BIFM
journal - saying that it was reviewing the way it currently procured and
delivered maintenance and facilities management services. The company
said it planning to undertake a feasibility study into "establishing long
term partnering relationships for the delivery of 'whole-life' integrated
services across the 8000 buildings of BT's UK estate."
The ad ran
on 15th July in BIFM's regular bulletin. BT said it is seeking "new and
innovative paradigms for delivering quantum improvements in service and
efficiency."
