John Lorimer has joined John Mowlem & Company as project director to head Mowlem Defence Solutions established to deal with Prime Contracting contracts. An alliance between Mowlem, British Aerospace Aviation and Construction Consultancy and Aqumen, Mowlem Defence Solutions, will take responsibility for delivering solutions for all clients' needs.

Turner & Townsend Project Management's Evelyn McDowell has been appointed as the Scottish Chairman for the BIFM. A project manager with TTPM, Evelyn began her career at the Centre for Facilities Management and has for the last four years specialised in PFI. She was project manager for the FM parts of the successful consortium's bid for the DSS estate - the PRIME project - and since joining TTPM has been involved in several education PFIs including Glasgow Schools and London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Business caterer, Baxter & Platts has promoted Dorian Price from area manager to Director of Operations with effect from 1st August.
