Industry
update
A new management structure being implemented by AMEC is hoped to
improve their customer services, streamline reporting and reduce costs.
These changes
will be focused mainly on capital projects, services and investments.
Capital projects will be led by David Robson, AMEC's chief operating officer,
with Alan Lamerton and Roddy Grant as directors.
Services
will comprise facilities management, utilities services, oil and gas offshore
services and rail maintenance. Mike Straughen is managing director and
reports to David Robson and Peter Mason for operational and strategic
developments.
Investment
will continue to be led by John Early, the group's property and development
director.
Bucknell
Austin, Marlin and FBA, the three companies which comprise Citex
have undergone intensive restructuring, creating four 'skill based staff
divisions' and three industry sector groups.
The new
divisions are Citex Bucknell Austin, Citex Consulting, Citex Project Management
and Citex Property and Facilities. Industry groups are: utilities, transportation
and defence, finance and banking, technology, arts and leisure, and Government
and developments.
Action
2000 is due to hold a press conference today which will expand upon
their recent report on companies' millennium compliance efforts. With
public interest becoming more fixed on the millennium problem, it is hoped
that this report will shed a little light on how well the UK is actually
doing to combat the potential millennium bug crisis.
Full coverage
will be available on the conference on Wednesday 4th August.
