Lean office conference goes ahead

This year's Lean Office conference, which looked in jeopardy, has been rescued and will once again deliver a stimulating programme say the new organisers Catalyst Management Development and Santa Raymond Consultants.

Scheduled for 11 and 12 October at The Amadeus Centre, in West London, the conference, to be chaired by Marilyn Standley, Managing Director of WSP Facilities Management, combines practical case studies, visits and workshops with expert insights into effective modern office design.

The two-day programme will explore how organisations have faced up to the implications of change – and look at the practical solutions developed by leading-edge players. Senior practitioners and project leaders will focus on the impact of advanced workplaces, and how they can improve productivity, service delivery and innovation, whilst reducing cost. Other key issues for debate will include:

  • How to choose the right technology for your business
  • How benchmarking helps you get what you need, and
  • How to tell fact from fashion in advanced officing.

Delegates will also have the chance to visit ‘lean offices’ in action:

This year’s participants include: Liisa Joronen of the successful Finnish services company, Sol, which has received international acclaim for its innovative offices and management style; Audrey Kaplan, a specialist in building performance, and winner of IFMA’s distinguished author award for her book ‘Total workplace performance: rethinking the office environment’; Stephen Cherry, Head of Workplace Technology, BT Property; Mark Cope, Operations Manager, Surrey County Council and Adryan Bell, Senior Consultant with DEGW.
