Francis Salway has joined Land Securities Board
as an executive director and UNITE has appointed Simon Bernstein as
group finance director.
l Land Securities has appointed
Francis Salway to the Board as an executive director, to oversee the
management of the companys £7.7bn portfolio of investment
properties.
Francis joined Land Securities in October last year to head up the Groups
asset management division. He was previously investment director of
Standard Life Investments where he managed a property fund and established
a property research team.
Commenting on the appointment, Ian Henderson, chief executive said:
Francis has already made a notable contribution to the Group and
we are delighted to welcome him onto the Board. We look forward to benefiting
from his considerable experience and asset management expertise as we
maintain our strategic focus of enhancing shareholder returns.
l Simon Bernstein has joined
university accommodation provider UNITE as group finance director. Prior
to this role, he was a UBS Warburg executive director, working in the
corporate finance department.
He has advised a number of companies, including consortia bidding for
PFI projects such as the Ministry of Defence and Department of Social
Security.
UNITE chairman Geoffrey Maddrell said: "We are delighted Simon

He brings with him particularly relevant and valuable experience."
