Old troopers march on
Two well known figures in British FM have come together to launch a
new company that aims to bridge the gap between training and implementation
in change management.
Former BIFM director John Crawshaw and consultant, organiser and writer
Jane Bell have formed Catalyst Management Development. The company will
focus on training and development programmes in facilities management
and the wider areas of property, business infrastructure and support services.
"Very often," Jane Bell notes, "a perceived need for training indicates
a deeper desire for change - and this is where Catalyst can make a tangible
difference. We are able to help clients develop new skills, but also to
apply them practically to achieve measurable results."
Catalyst plans a mix of open workshop sessions and tailored programmes
for internal delivery at specific client companies. The emphasis, says
Crawshaw, will be on developing the skills for effective implementation.
The company has already announced its initial programme, which begins
in November. Project management, relocation, project feasibility and project
control are on the agenda over the next six months.
