Amey
and Comax to join forces
Amey
has acquired the entire issued share capital of support services provider
Comax, in a deal worth £86 million.
Comax,
a spin-off from the government's defence agency, is being bought
from venture capital group Cinven, who have owned the company since 1997.
With
a client portfolio of including Norweb and National Westminster Bank,
the company will assist Amey in its campaign to be recognised as a broad-based
support services group.
Neil
Ashley, chairman of Amey, is delighted: "Amey and Comax are to join
forces. This will serve to increase Amey's scale and range of product
offerings and propel us into the premier support services league,"
he said.
